Japanese green tea

I lived in Japan for 15 years, and it all started w/ a 3 month study abroad in Shizuoka which is known for their green tea. I know as much as about it as you guys. In fact I was in the Park Hyatt last week and saw a 4800 yen box of tea. WTF? I can tell the difference betweeen $20, $50, and $100 scotch, but not tea. I just buy the matcha powder at the nice grocery and am done for a while.
