AARP = American Association of Racing Professionals!!! It's a birthday celebration as Speed Racer hits the big 5-0 and Let's Anime is there to repurpose a thing I wrote for Otaku USA in advance of that 2008 Speed Racer film that came and went! Is adventure still waiting just ahead for Speed?

Great article Dave! Speed racer holds a special place in my heart, as I used to watch reruns with my dad often (he was a car guy & got a kick out of it). I was lucky enough to meet Peter Fernandez about a few years before he passed away--he was a guest at Sakura-con, and had a booth in the exhibition hall. A sweet man, I talked with him for nearly a half an hour because no one was really coming up to his booth & he was glad to get to talk to a fan.

I'm still iffy on that head shaped box set...i keep hoping they'll do a regular one too but I might just be forced into buying that ugly mug lol.
