Nice to meet you all :D You can call me Juno.

I've been watching anime since 2000/2001. Where I grew up there weren't really 'cons' or meetups (I never heard of them, at least), so most of my knowledge of the anime scene came from hanging out with people on the net and the few IRL friends I had who were also into it. We'd go to each others' houses, swap tapes/DVDs, trade our YGO/Pokemon cards; still, nobody I knew IRL seemed as into anime or the culture around it as I was. A lot of what got me into anime at the time was music - being a guitarist, I was hugely into Jpop/Jrock and used to dive into rabbit holes about which bands did which OP/EDs to which anime, that sort of thing. Some 15-20 years later and I have a bunch of killer playlists, thanks to that :)

Nowadays, I have a small circle of friends I talk to about anime and manga I'm reading. I spend my time mostly rewatching older anime/OVAs and series that I loved from back in the day. I'm almost done with a rewatch of Serial Experiments Lain and up next is the Phantom Quest Corp OVA.

Looking forward to chatting with you guys! What have you been watching/rewatching recently?

Howdy. Welcome to the boards, Juno! :) Do you have any standout favorite J-Rock bands?

I've been watching the new Ranma adaptation lately, it actually got me back into catching up with new shows.

Haha great question! Hmm, standout favorites... FACT is a good one, super underrated post-hardcore band that unfortunately broke up a while ago. As for others... Nico Touches the Walls, Abingdon Boys School, Kana-Boon, Aqua Timez, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Galileo Galilei, Indigo la End, and Orange Range, just to name a few! What about you, are you a big J-rock fan?

Aw nice! How is it? A friend convinced me a few years ago to watch the Fruits Basket remake and I honestly quite enjoyed it :) But I do have a soft spot for the shoujo stuff in any case
